Event Overview

Ever feel awful after scrolling though Facebook or Instagram? It’s no wonder; we’re constantly bombarded with perfectly posed and filtered images of the highlights of other people’s lives. Déirdre O’Hagan is a primary teacher, yoga and meditation teacher and Intuitive Eating counsellor. She also has a postgraduate degree in psychology and believes in empowering women to use the energy we spend comparing ourselves to others for far more interesting things. Join her as she shares her research on the impact of social media on body image and mood. Learn the psychology underlying why scrolling often makes you feel bad, how the diet and beauty industries exploit this, and how to reframe your relationship with social media and prioritise your self-worth.
