HOPE(D) is a non-profit Charity that is directly involved with supporting people in Co Kildare who may be experiencing any of life’s crisis. Initially setup in 2003 to provide support to those bereaved by suicide, our focus now is to intervene early in a clients’ Mental health journey, before a current crisis becomes more advanced. By intervening early, we reduce the loss of life to suicide. We provide professional support to people experiencing stress, anxiety, or those who may find themselves ‘in depression,’ brought on by major changes within their personal, work, or social relationships.
Connecting with our youth, adults & elderly, we support people from 13 years upwards, we do our utmost to provide much needed Psychotherapy services within our local Community & surrounding town-lands.
As a charity in existence for 17 years, we are a ‘not for profit’ organisation, and do not currently receive any government funding or assistance. We exist on your generosity – please follow the DONATE button above, if you wish to find out how you can HELP US to HELP OTHERS. If you would like to find out more about what we do, please connect with us through our many ‘social media’ links, through email, or telephone 087 1513535 or 1800 855534 for further support & advice.

KWWSPCA
June Fest are delighted to welcome KWWSPCA, who are participating in our Monster Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday 6th June 2022.
The KWWSPCA was founded in 1940 (initially as the Kildare SPCA) to help prevent and deal with cases of animal cruelty. Run solely by volunteers, the Society is devoted to the rescue, care, and re-homing of animals throughout Kildare and West Wicklow. The KWWSPCA has no paid employees and is solely run by volunteers. In 2021 just over 250 dogs had come into the care of the KWWSPCA and most of these were rehomed. We also rehomed over 260 cats, most of these being kittens. Rabbits, budgies, guinea pigs and other small pets came through our care during 2021.
We cover our running costs by holding regular fundraisers and receiving donations. A very important part of the KWWSPCA is our charity shop, Noah’s Ark which is located on Cutlery Road, Newbridge. The shop generates important funds for us which allows us to run our Animal Shelter in Athgarvan.
Noah’s Ark has a great reputation for having really good quality clothes and we appreciate the great support that we receive from the people of Newbridge. If you haven’t visited the shop before you should drop in. It is a lovely place run by a great team of friendly volunteers.

Newbridge Rugby Football Club
June Fest are delighted to welcome Newbridge RFC, who are participating in our Monster Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday 6th June 2022. Founded in 1996 | Nicknamed “The Bridge” | Based in Rosetown, Athgarvan. Newbridge RFC was formed after the amalgamation of neighbouring clubs, Curragh RFC, and Old Kilcullen RFC, in June 1996. Through the 1990s, both of these clubs had struggled with recruiting players and new members and for financial support. They each required a new start.
Initial exploratory discussions started in May 1995, but these had fizzled out by August of that year. More serious discussions were resumed in November 1995 with the two clubs being represented by four executive members each: A trial merger of two years was initially agreed. The new club was called Newbridge RFC. The club’s first President was Pierce McCorley, Chairman was Bill Perrin and Captain was Martin Donnelly. At the end of this period further separate AGMs were held of the former clubs and after much debate the merger was finalised with a number of conditions that remained in place for the next five years. In an attempt to keep alive, the heritage of the former clubs the name of the club was agreed as Newbridge Curragh Old Kilcullen RFC. Then from season 2003/2004 the new club reverted to its original name of Newbridge RFC.
A decision was taken during 2000 to focus the club’s activities at Rosetown, a site and clubhouse it totally owned, letting the Ministry of Defence take back the Green Road, which the Curragh had use of on a lease basis. However, as the Curragh had funded the building of the clubhouse, compensation for its loss was obtained for the new club. In addition, with permission, Newbridge still have access to the Green Road facilities.
