Bairbre Herbert

Using a mix of traditional and found materials, my work is inspired by nature and relationship.

The way we humans connect to each other and the environment that holds us is a recurring theme.

I hope that a spark of interest in a piece connects to the spark that made it.

Bairbre is proudly from the Hill of Allen and lives in Newbridge.

This is the first year that we have a featured artist as part of the festival and in the future we hope to give this platform to a different artist each year .

Bairbre’s original work is on display in the window of O’Rourke’s pub for the duration of the festival

The materials of the sculpture used on our home page (and also the cover of the printed programme) are copper wire and a single Dandelion seed (Caisearbhán, Taraxacum Agg.).
