The Barracks – Audio Tour with Frank Boland
Local historian, Frank Boland, takes us on an audio tour of the housing estate known as the Barracks. It is loosely based on Frank’s book – ‘From the Barrack Gate to the Watering Gates’, about the history of the houses in the estate and its residents.
The ‘tour’ begins on the Main St., at the Barrack Gate, between the Town Hall and the Garda Station, and then goes through the estate, down to the watering gates, finishing on the Main St. beside the Riverbank Arts Centre.
Listen to the tour here via Soundcloud.
