‘The Gibbet Rath’ – Audio Tour with Jim Kavanagh
The Curragh is a tapestry of history, culture and legend.
Our annual walk across the Curragh in collaboration with Kildare Derby Festival will take the form of an audio tour this year due to Covid restrictions.
Today we are going on a walk in the southwest corner of the curragh to discover The French Furze/Maddenstown area. The walk takes about one hour. Bring sensible walking shoes or strong runners and just a reminder that we are in an area for training horses so if walking in the morning time please be aware you may come across some horses training, make sure to steer clear of them and lastly respect the sward and bring your rubbish home with you.
This recording is designed to be listened to in the comfort and safety of your own home or perhaps you may want to take the same journey and follow in Jim’s footsteps, as he guides you through this years Curragh ramble.
